Subsequent to the notable AW17 capsule collection by Martine Rose in collaboration with Italian outerwear brand Napapijri, the London men’s wear designer returns for SS18 with a shift in focus from the East to the West coast of America, examining the youth and music scene of downtown LA in the ‘90s.
Rose stays true to her signature repurposing of heritage Napapijri pieces, this time moving away from heavy anoraks and developing the Rainforest jacket; a hooded, over the head windbreaker with a distinctive silhouette, boxed logo and chest pocket, designed to complement an active lifestyle. The collection also presents overalls, oversized stripe polo-shirts and heavily branded sweats in bright primary colors, with contrast stitching and trims.
The Bering Bag, the first product created and produced by Napapijri, has also been reimagined here. Martine kept the silhouette of the Bering Bag whilst using waxed cotton waxed cotton and a Napa by Martine Rose logo embellishment.
